The 12-Month Countdown to Perfect Bridal Skin
Forward this to your favorite bride-to-be.
I’ve worked with countless brides wanting perfect skin on their wedding day, and they’re always surprised to learn how early we need to get to work. (This is not a “sheet mask the night before” kind of routine.) If you can, I recommend starting your bridal skincare at least six months out and combining a mix of in-studio treatments, facials, and a skincare routine that prioritizes smoothing out texture. A lot of brides stress about pigmentation, but I think the focus should really be on texture instead. You can always cover up a dark spot with makeup, but texture is so much harder.
Texture shows up in photos, even with makeup on. My goal when working with brides is to get your skin as smooth and even as possible, ensuring your makeup sits beautifully and lasts all day. Whether you’re dealing with acne, large pores, or generally great skin, the right treatments can make a huge difference.
Without further ado, here’s my official skin recommendation for bridal skin:
FOR ACNE PRONE SKIN
(Inflamed & Non-Inflamed Bumps)
Your Prep Time:
8 months before your wedding
Your Treatments:
A peel every few months (the strength will vary based on what your skin can handle)
A facial with extractions every other month
These treatments will help clear up bumps and refine texture.
Your Routine:
AM: Clean Clean Cleanser, Mandelic Clearing Serum, non-comedogenic moisturizer, non-comedogenic sunscreen
PM: Double cleanse with micellar water, Clean Clean Cleanser, non-comedogenic moisturizer. Supplement with Reset Acne Mask 1x per week.
FOR LARGE PORES
Your Prep Time:
8-12 months before your wedding
Your Treatments:
Depending on your timing, book 1-2 lasers like Clear and Brilliant, Fraxel, or microneedling.
These treatments help to smooth out pores and improve overall skin texture.
Your Routine:
AM: Clean Clean Cleanser, Nice Ice toners, Mandelic Clearing Serum, moisturizer, sunscreen
PM: Double cleanse with micellar water, Clean Clean Cleanser, moisturizer.
FOR ALREADY SMOOTH SKIN YOU JUST WANT TO AMP UP
Your Prep Time:
3-4 months before your wedding
Your Treatments:
If your texture is already looking good, focus on hydrating facials, oxygen treatments, and microneedling with Rejuran. These will keep your skin glowing and hydrated.
Your Routine:
AM: Clean Clean Cleanser, Nice Ice toners, moisturizer, sunscreen
PM: Double cleanse with micellar water and Clean Clean Cleanser, finish with your favorite moisturizer.
HOW MUCH DOES IT ALL COST?
Peels start at $175 per session can go up to 550 a session for more RX options. Microneedling & lasers usually start at $550, with more intensive options reaching up to $1500-2k per session.
The perfect bridal skin, as they say, is priceless.
